Concrete coloring

A ready-to-use liquid dye for coloring cementitious floors after installation.

Colors: golden yellow, orange, red, turquoise, blue, brown, black, terracotta, sand and green
Special colors for logos are available on request.

OBTEGO X-100 (A) ; Resin (primer)

OBTEGO X-100/200 (B) ; Hardener

Purpose / properties

• Low-viscosity primer for OBTEGO X-200 (joint filler) and X-300 (mortar).
• Base coat for better adhesion on mineral substrates.
• 2-component MMA (methyl methacrylate)

OBTEGO X-200 (A) ; Resin (joint filler)

OBTEGO X-100/200 (B) ; Hardener

Purpose / properties

• Highly elastic, modified methacrylate resin for jointing and sealing mineral surfaces.
• Provides lasting elasticity and better absorption of substrate movement.
• Suitable for indoor and outdoor surfaces.

OBTEGO X-300 (A) ; Powder (Mortar)

OBTEGO X-300 (B) Hardener

Purpose / properties

• OBTEGO X-300 is a 2-component methacrylate resin mortar with high compressive and flexural strength.
• It is distinguished by very low linear shrinkage.
• The mortar is best suited to repairs and filling holes.
• Because of its high strength, the mortar is also suitable as an abrasion-resistant concrete coating for leveling and repair work in layers 6–25 mm thick.

OBTEGO SP-100

Purpose / properties

• Once mixed with grinding dust directly on site, OBTEGO SP-100 takes on
  the color of the surface concerned.
• Thanks to the amount of silicates in the product, OBTEGO SP-100 integrates
  very well into the substrate and stays flexible thanks to special polymers.
• Subsequent grinding is therefore possible without chipping.
• OBTEGO® SP-100 is used on ground concrete floors/cement screeds that have pores and small holes after grinding.
• The product can be used to close holes 3–5 mm in size.

Pre-treatment

New silicate portfolio

With the new silicate portfolio we are completing an extensive series of research and testing at OBTEGO AG. A range of different silicate types was tested for abrasion and for the reduction of capillary water absorption (densification) on concrete floors.

Based on the results, we have further improved our silicates in terms of application and function. The new products round out our silicate portfolio to meet both our customers’ requirements and the increasing demands of the market.

OBTEGO P-3

Highly reactive blend of potassium and lithium silicate

Purpose / properties

• OBTEGO P-3 is used as a densifier and hardener on power-troweled concrete as well as on ground concrete between the individual steps
• The product penetrates deep into the surface
• Water absorption is reduced while the surface remains vapor-permeable
• After treating a surface with OBTEGO P-3, the following properties are present
• Improved abrasion resistance, dust-free performance, impermeability and greater durability at the surface

OBTEGO P-4

Concrete densifier and hardener with basic protection (lithium silicate)

Purpose / properties

• OBTEGO® P-4 is a highly reactive lithium silicate with integrated (basic) protective properties.

• The product is used for silicate treatment/densification on cementitious surfaces.

• OBTEGO® P-4 is usually used on mechanically troweled floors and also on ground/polished concrete floors as a final treatment.

• Improved abrasion resistance, dust-free performance and greater durability.

OBTEGO P-10

Water-dilutable pre-treatment (sealer) based on a fluorocarbon oligomer that provides an outstanding water- and oil-repellent effect

Purpose / properties

• OBTEGO® P-10 reduces the penetration of water-based liquids, grease, oils and other contaminants and is used essentially as a pre-treatment before applying OBTEGO® R-400
• Its effectiveness depends on the material and the absorbency of the surface
• Depending on the material and the surface finish, it may also produce differing results in stain-protection performance
• Application on polymer-modified concrete/screed, as well as on designer floors and other self-leveling compounds, is limited (check suitability)
• In principle there is no change, or only a negligible change, in the appearance of the surface (no color deepening).
• Water absorption is greatly reduced, but water vapor permeability is affected only marginally.
• The active substances are UV-resistant.

OBTEGO P-20

Water-dilutable pre-treatment with an acrylic copolymer, very good pore-filling properties and a water-repellent effect

Purpose / properties

• OBTEGO P-20 / P-20 nV reduces the penetration of water-based liquids and other contaminants.

• The product is used essentially as a pre-treatment for OBTEGO R-400.

• P-20 also increases resistance to acidic liquids.

• The active substances are UV-resistant.

• In principle there is no change, or only a minimal change, in the color of the surface (no color deepening), but an increase in gloss can be expected.

OBTEGO R-30

Pigmented 2-component special impregnating sealer based on lithium silicate

Purpose / properties

• OBTEGO R-30 produces a silicate reaction on concrete surfaces and penetrates deep into the surface.
• The hybrid silica also reduces the penetration of liquids and contaminants.
• Water absorption is reduced while the surface remains vapor-permeable.
• Surfaces are easier to clean and gloss is also increased. The following properties characterize surfaces after treatment with OBTEGO R-30: improved abrasion resistance, dust-free performance, impermeability and greater durability, with no or only slight color deepening.

OBTEGO R-40

Highly reactive hybrid silicate with basic stain protection

Purpose / properties

• Because it refines the pigmented surface, OBTEGO R-40 is excellently suited to use on new, uneven concrete surfaces or on old floors.
• OBTEGO R-40 penetrates the surface, where it reacts with the substrate and forms a solid unit with it.
• The product protects the surface against the penetration of water-based liquids, oils, greases and everyday contaminants.

OBTEGO R-50

Water-dilutable protective sealer for concrete floors

Purpose / properties

• A special water-dilutable protective sealer based on a blend of silane and polymers.
• OBTEGO R-50 reduces the penetration of water-based liquids, grease, oils and other contaminants.
• The product is easy to apply and produces a high gloss once buffed.
• Its effectiveness depends on the material and the absorbency of the surface.
• Depending on the material and the surface finish, it may also produce differing results in stain-protection performance.
• In principle there is no change, or only a minimal change, in the color of the surface (color enhancement).
• Water absorption is significantly reduced. The active substances are UV-resistant.

OBTEGO R-400

Solvent-based special sealer on a silane base with an outstanding water- and oil-repellent effect.

Purpose / properties

• OBTEGO R-400 reduces the penetration of water-based liquids, grease, oils and other contaminants.

• The product penetrates deep into the surface and causes color deepening.

• Water absorption is greatly reduced, while water vapor permeability is affected only slightly.

• The active substances are UV-resistant.

OBTEGO R-405

OBTEGO concrete dye

A dye for coloring cementitious surfaces after installation

Purpose / properties

• The product was developed specifically for diamond-polished concrete and is intended for interior use.

• It penetrates deep into the surface and forms a bond with the concrete.

• The concrete dye is part of a system together with OBTEGO silicates and sealers.

• Applying the product evenly across the surface ensures a homogeneous appearance. The product acts as a glaze.

• The texture and the aggregate remain visible, and there is no full coverage as there would be with an ordinary paint coating.
